Did you smile this much through labor? 🥰 And check out the proud big brothers! This is the third Wellspring baby for this sweet family (though their fifth overall). They had their third at the previous facility, their fourth at home, and their fifth at the new facility. It says something about our new place when a family with a previous homebirth chooses to birth in the birth center again. It’s designed to be comfortable and inviting, and we feel like we’ve done well when families feel at home here.

Keilah here was the second Wellspring baby born into her family, though she has three big brothers! She was the third VBAC for her beautiful mama, who wanted a large family. Large families are possible after a cesarean, so if you’re pregnant after a previous cesarean, keep looking until you find a truly supportive provider. They exist! And your risks actually go down after a VBAC rather than going up with each repeat surgery. Consider a midwife! 💕

The next Evidence Based Birth Childbirth Class starts October 4. Contact Wellspring Birth Center by emailing admin@wellspringbirthcenter.com or calling 832-777-0291 to register. The class is $300 and is a hybrid class with six sessions (two in person and four online). This class is open to all expecting families who desire to be educated and prepared for their upcoming birth, no matter where you plan to deliver. Past students rave about how well this class prepared them to work together to bring their baby into the world. Register by September 24.

We are moving to a new location soon. The goal is to be moved by the end of July. Our new location is in the Splendora/Cleveland area, about 20 minutes north of our current location. It's on 5 peaceful acres in the country and has plenty of space for our laboring mamas and their families. We will also have a satellite office in Kingwood, just down the road from our current location. This office will be open on Mondays for routine prenatal visits, and Suzanne Juel, IBCLC will be sharing the same office space for lactation consultations the remainder of the week. We will be posting more pictures and updating our address in the coming weeks, so be on the lookout and follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

We’re planning the 200th birth celebration, which is scheduled for April 18 at 10 am. The event will be hosted at Wellspring Birth Center at 794A Russell Palmer Rd, Kingwood.
